(Genesis 24:27, NIV) “As for me, the Lord has led me on the journey.

1. BEWARE OF THE GRIND.

(Exodus 5:4,9, NLT) “Pharaoh replied, “Moses and Aaron, why are you distracting the people from their tasks? Get back to work!” …  “Load them down with more work. Make them sweat! That will teach them to listen to lies!

(Exodus 5:19–21, NLT) “The Israelite foremen could see that they were in serious trouble … they confronted Moses and Aaron, … “May the Lord judge and punish you for making us stink before Pharaoh and his officials.”

2. GRIND MASTER IS OUR ADVERSARY.

(1 Peter 5:8, NASB) “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

(Revelation 12:10–11, Message) “The Accuser of our brothers and sisters thrown out, who accused them day and night before God. They defeated him through the blood of the Lamb and the bold word of their witness. They weren’t in love with themselves; they were willing to die for Christ.

3.  HOPELESSNESS LEADS TO DESPAIR.

(1 Corinthians 6:12, GN) “I am not going to let anything make me its slave.

4.  GOD HAS SENT YOU THE DELIVERER.

(Galatians 5:1, Message) “Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.

GROWTHWORK

1.  LOOK UP.

(Matthew 22:37, Message) “Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’

  • Do you long to know God better?
  • Do you long to serve God more?

2.  LOOK WITHIN.

(Psalm 139:23–24, NLT) “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

  • Do you enjoy life?
  • Do you understand that holiness is happiness?

3.  LOOK AROUND.

(Matthew 22:39, NLT) “A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

  • Are you growing in generosity?
  • Are you in community?
