1. SOME OF US HAD AN DISCOURAGING START.
(Genesis 30:13, NLT) “And Leah named him Asher, for she said, “What joy is mine! Now the other women will celebrate with me.”
2. WE ALL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CHANGE.
(Genesis 46:17, NLT) “The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.”
(Genesis 49:20, NLT) “Asher will dine on rich foods and produce food fit for kings.”
(Deuteronomy 33:24–25, NLT) “May Asher be blessed above other sons; may he be esteemed by his brothers; may he bathe his feet in olive oil.
a. God will prosper those who trust Him.
(Jeremiah 29:11, GNB) “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.”
b. God gives us posterity.
(1 Timothy 1:2, NLT) “I am writing to Timothy, my true son in the faith.”
c. God will give us esteem.
(Proverbs 16:7, NLT) “When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them.”
d. God gives us the opportunity to make a fresh star
(Romans 2:4, NLT) “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”
3. WE WILL BE CHALLENGED.
(Deuteronomy 33:25, NLT) “May the bolts of your gates be of iron and bronze; may you be secure all your days.”
