WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I DIE?

(2 Peter 3:9, NLT) “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”

(1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, NLT) “And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.] For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.”

The beauty of life is found in our relationships of love.

1.  Grieve.

2.  Grieve with hope.

(John 11:35,38) “Jesus wept. …  Jesus was still angry as he arrived at the tomb….”

3.  Acknowledge my mortality.

(Ecclesiastes 2:16, NLT) “For the wise and the foolish both die.”

(Ecclesiastes 3:11, NLT) “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”

4.  I will either suffer or rejoice after I die.

(2 Thessalonians 1:8-9) “He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord ever from the glory of his might.”

(Revelation 21:3-4, NLT) “I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

GROWTHWORK

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

(Acts 16:31, NLT) They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”

Invest in Eternity.

(Ecclesiastes 11:9, Message) You who are young, make the most of your youth. Relish your youthful vigor. Follow the impulses of your heart. If something looks good to you, pursue it. But know also that not just anything goes; You have to answer to God for every last bit of it.”
