(Psalm 62:8, ESV) “Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.”

1. Trust in the Lord at all times

(Psalm 62:8a, ESV) “Trust in him at all times, O people”

“The comforts which David had found, he exhorteth others to seek, in faith and prayer.” -Spurgeon

(Numbers 23:19, ESV) “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”

(Ephesians 2:8-10, ESV) “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

2. Pour out your heart before God

(Psalm 62:8b, ESV) “Pour out your heart before him”

(Psalm 61:2, NLT) “from the ends of the earth I cry to You for help.”

(1 Samuel 1:15, ESV) “a woman troubled in spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have been pouring out my soul before the Lord.”

(1 Peter 5:7, ESV) “casting all your anxieties on him (on Jesus), because he cares for you.”

(Psalm 61:1-3) “Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge,  a strong tower against the enemy”

3. God is your refuge

(Psalm 62:8c, ESV) “God is a refuge for us”

(Psalm 46:1-3, NLT) “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come  and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge.”

(John 14:1) “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me”
