(Psalm 67:1–3, GN) “God, be merciful to us and bless us; look on us with kindness, so that the whole world may know your will; so that all nations may know your salvation. May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you!”
1. When love and truth meet, you have mission!
(John 17:13–18, NLT) “I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy. I have given them your word. … I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. … Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.”
(John 20:21, NLT) “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
2. When I am on mission I am filled with joy!
(John 17:13, NLT) “I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy.”
(Hebrews 12:2–3, NLT) “We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honorbeside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.”
3. Jesus promises me His power and presence.
(Matthew 28:18–20, NLT) “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
(1 Corinthians 15:10, NLT) “God’s amazing grace has made me who I am! And his grace to me was not fruitless.”
4. My close relationship with Jesus makes me salt and light!
(John 17:17, 19, NLT) “Make them holy by your truth; … I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.”
