I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

(John 16:7, AMP) “However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].”

1. THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDES ME.

(John 16:13, CEV) “The Spirit shows what is true and will come and guide you into the full truth.”

2. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS ME.

(Ephesians 3:16, NLT) “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.”

3. THE HOLY SPIRIT OFFERS ME UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE.

(Ephesians 1:13, Message) “It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free; signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit.”

4. THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES ME A GIFT TO HELP OTHERS.

(1 Corinthians 12:7, NLT) “A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.”

I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.

(Acts 19:2, NLT)“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

(Luke 3:16, NLT) “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”

The primary purpose of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is evangelism.

(Acts 1:8, NLT) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

“An evangelical is someone who takes the Bible seriously and believes in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.” Leith Anderson, President of the NAE

(Acts 19:6, NLT) “Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.”

Praying in the spirit, (tongues) are for confirmation, personal edification, prayer, praise and adoration.

(Acts 10:46, NLT) “For they heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God.”

(1 Corinthians 14:2, NLT) “For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.”

(1 Corinthians 14:4, NLT) “A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, …”

(1 Corinthians 14:15–19, NLT) “Well then, what shall I do? I will pray in the spirit, and I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will also sing in words I understand. For if you praise God only in the spirit, how can those who don’t understand you praise God along with you? How can they join you in giving thanks when they don’t understand what you are saying? You will be giving thanks very well, but it won’t strengthen the people who hear you. I thank God that I speak in tongues more than any of you. But in a church meeting I would rather speak five understandable words to help others than ten thousand words in an unknown language.”

(Acts 2:11, NLT) “We all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done!”
