(John 14:27, ESV) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
(John 14:1, ESV) Let not your hearts be troubled.
1. We have a Promise of Eternal Life
(John 14:2-4, ESV) My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.
(Revelation 21:4, ESV) He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
(1 Corinthians 2:9, ESV) What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.”
2. We have a Promise of Salvation
(John 14:5-6, ESV) Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
(Acts 4:12, ESV) And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
(Acts 16:31, ESV) Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.
3. We have a Promise of the HolySpirit
(John 14:26, ESV) But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
(John 14:16-17, ESV) And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
4. We have a Promise of Peace
(John 14:27, ESV) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
(1 Peter 5:6-7, ESV) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
(Colossians 3:15, ESV) And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Growthwork
1. Read your Bible daily
(Philippians 4:9, NLT) Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
2. Pray in ALL circumstances
(Philippians 4:6-7, NLT) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
3. Trust God in ALL things
(Proverbs 36:5-6, NLT) Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
