(Psalm 29:11, NLT) “The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.”
(1 Peter 4:10, NLT) “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”
(Matthew 26:38, NLT) “[Jesus] told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”
(2 Corinthians 7:6, PT) “God, who always knows how to encourage the depressed, encouraged us greatly by the arrival of Titus.”
1. BE PRESENT WITH ONE ANOTHER.
(Matthew 1:23, NLT) “They will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.”
(Proverbs 17:17, NLT) “A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.”
(Romans 15:7, CEV) “Honor God by accepting each other, as Christ has accepted you.”
2. GIVE GRACE TO ONE ANOTHER.
(Ephesians 1:7–8, NLT) “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.”
(Proverbs 16:24, Message) “Gracious speech is like clover honey— good taste to the soul, quick energy for the body.”
3. BE TRUTHFUL BUT BE KIND.
(John 1:17, CEV) “The Law was given by Moses, but Jesus Christ brought us undeserved kindness and truth.”
(Proverbs 19:20, NLT) “Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.”
4. BE INVESTED BEFORE YOU GIVE ADVICE.
(Malachi 4:6, NLT) “His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.”
(James 1:22, NLT) “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.”
