(2 Corinthians 3:6, NLT) “The Spirit gives life.”
(John 7:38–39, NLT) “Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)”
1. The Holy Spirit is always present within me.
(John 14:16–18, AMP) “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans…”
2. The Holy Sprit helps me know God better.
(John 14:26; 16:13, NLT) “The Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you… he will guide you into all truth. …He will tell you about the future.”
3. The Holy Spirit helps me live out God’s mission.
“God’s plan to bless the nations through the gospel of Jesus Christ.” -John York, Missiologist
(Acts 1:8, NLT) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”)
(1 Corinthians 12:4–7, NLT) “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.”
4. The Holy Spirit show me my need for God.
(John 16:8, CEV) “The Spirit will come and show the people of this world the truth about sin and God’s justice and the judgment.”
(Revelation 3:19, CEV) “I correct and punish everyone I love. So make up your minds to turn away from your sins.”
