(1 Chronicles 16:34–35, NLT) “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Cry out, “Save us, O God of our salvation! Gather and rescue us from among the nations, so we can thank your holy name and rejoice and praise you.”

A Running Theme of the Bible is God is our Salvation.

1. GOD SAVES PHYSICALLY.

(Zechariah 12:9, NLT) “I will begin to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

a. GOD SAVES BY HIS WORD.

(Zechariah 12:1, NLT) “This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord: “This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit.

(Colossians 1:17, NLT) “He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.

b. GOD SAVES BY HIS POWER.

(Zechariah 12:8, NLT) “On that day the Lord will defend the people of Jerusalem; the weakest among them will be as mighty as King David! And the royal descendants will be like God, like the angel of the Lord who goes before them!

2. GOD SAVES SPIRITUALLY.

(Zechariah 12:10, NLT) “Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.

a. THE SAFEST PLACE FOR YOU AND ME IS IN THE CENTER OF GOD’S WILL.

(Zechariah 12:4, NLT) “I will watch over the people of Judah, but I will blind all the horses of their enemies.

b. GOD USES TRIALS TO PREPARE US.

(Zechariah 14:2, NLT) “I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem.

(Ephesians 1:11, NLT) “Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.

c. GOD BRINGS US TO SALVATION BY HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

(Zechariah 12:10, NLT) “Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died.

(John 6:63, NLT) “The Spirit alone gives eternal life.
